Parvati and Lord Kartikeya was born
Seeing his great skills and strength to fight against demons, Lord Brahma appointed Lord Kartikeya as the commander in Chief of gods then Lord Kartikeya killed the demon Tarkasur. Since then mother Pavati is glorifed with the name Skanda Mata.
Navratri 2022 Day 5: Significance
Skanda Mata represents as she rides a lion and has four hands holding the infant kartikeya or Murugan in her lap. The infant Kartikeya has six faces. Her both upper hands are holding lotus flowers. She is the Goddess of Vishuddh Chakra which means the pure in all directions. She has complexion of Shubhra, which is pure white. People, who worship Skanda Mata on this day, moves towards the undiluted thoughts. They get relieved from all the tensions related to the outer world. The devotees who get involve spiritually, get rid of anxiety and starts enjoying the divine happiness.
As Skanda Mata is in the motherly form, she is extremely pure, compassionate and divine super power who bless her devotees with the wish fulfilment and she never let her devotees returns empty hands.
Navratri 2022 Day 5: Puja Vidhi
- Wake up early in the morning and wear clean clothes before commencing the rituals.
- Take all the Puja samagri- Desi ghee, diya, flowers or vermillion, kumkum, chunni or dupatta, ganga jal, home made sweets, paan, supari, laung and elaichi.
- Sprinkle gangajal all around before starting puja rituals.
- Light a diya with desi ghee and offer vermillion and paan along with elaichi, supari and 2 laung.
- Chant Skanda mata mantra and other mantras mentioned in Durga Saptashati.
- Recite Durga Saptashati Path.
- Devotees must offer bhog prasad and chant Durga Maa Aarti before breaking the fast.
